When we think of effective skincare, the mind usually goes to a place where quality is costly out of reach and we start to break out in hives just thinking about spending a month’s living expenses on precious fluids to turn back the hands of time.  What IS the difference between the higher end serums versus what you find in a drug store environment?  We compared two serums on both ends of the skincare cost spectrum and with interesting results.

L’Oreal Skin Genesis has generated a lot of interest in the mainstream consumer buying market.  Many who have used the product say it is easy to find, the price is right (around $20.00), results are noticeable, and if you have sensitive skin, you’re in luck because while L’Oreal makes no claims for sensitive skin use, it is very popular among those who have it.  In online reviews, it is the top pick second only to any favorite high end serum found at a department store.  What could possibly make this product any better?  It is one in a line of anti-aging products from L’Oreal?  A manufacturer’s reduction in price?  All the above?

Teen Scene With Kaeleigh McLaughlin

Hi everyone!  My name is Kaeleigh and this is my new division.  I have decided to call it Teen Scene!  I am going to be filling you in on the latest looks and great makeup to go with it!

The first look I am going to look at today is what I like to wear almost everyday! A great line to look for is the Miley Cyrus/Max Azria clothing line.

It is only available at Wal-Mart but it is affordable and cute!  Pick out a t-shirt that you like and a pair of plain, ripped, or paint splattered jeans.  Darker jeans look better on the girls with lighter skin.  If you have a darker skin tone you should probably wear a lighter colored pair of jeans.  Bad hair day?  A headband would be just fine with this look!  Now pick out a light pink lipstick or gloss.  One of my favorite lipsticks is “Sweet And Single” available at MAC retail stores.

If you are wearing a darker shirt, you could get away with a LIGHT brown.  If your skin has a lighter tone, a pink blush is perfect!  Darker tones, Maybe a beige!  Remember, don’t do anything that you know your parents will say “Get back up in that bathroom and take off that makeup,” because not only it is a waste of your time, but it will get you in trouble.  Trust me, I have been down that road.  Also, to the parents, your kids have a right to self expression.  The way they look tells a lot about who they are.  Unless it is totally inappropriate, give them a little wiggle room.

Obviously, don’t let them go to school with black eyeshadow bright blue lipstick and hot pink blush.  At the age of about 10 let them start to wear a LITTLE bit.  As they get older, let them add.  Start them with a blush and lipgloss.  Middle School girls tend to wear a lot of makeup. It is totally unnecessary.  A pink blush, light eyeshadow, and a little gloss won’t ever hurt anybody!  If you have a light skin tone, Miley Cyrus or Kesha is who you should look at for what they wear.
